Applefest 2021
Since we’ve met, Rachael and I have gone to Applefest in beautiful Bayfield, Wisconsin. We’ve only missed one or two years, usually because we are traveling. Even though I would be deploying soon, we managed to squeeze in a trip before I left town. We went with our friend Martina.
We drove our new car, which made the ride very enjoyable. The weather was warm–almost hot in the sun–until rain moved in toward the end of our day. Before then, we walked around and people-watched, ate lots of great food, and had a delicious hard cider.
We were going to stop at an apple orchard on the way out of town, but they were all REALLY busy, so we bypassed and headed back. By then, the rain had stopped and we stopped along the highway 2 rest area along the Brule River. The fall leaves were turning colors and we got a few good pictures:
The day before Applefest, we decided to go out to Wisconsin Point…one of our favorite places in the city…to enjoy the view. No swimming though, as it was too cold:
